Fetch is fine after work, but on the weekend, your best friend likes to get outside and explore, too. With the right gear, you can all enjoy your outdoor adventures. Here's what our hard-playing dogs and their humans have to say about the latest dog gear... (Probably only fair to tell you that this sweet pooch isn't one of our test dogs, but until they send us their head shots, we'll just have to create the mood with a stand-in.)

Lapper Bowl

OllyDog makes some travel bowls that are actually boxes. They have rigid sides when open, and no amount of dog scarfing or slurping makes the sides collapse. So, water doesn't slosh out of the boal when Red and her friends dive in.

Another useful benefit of having a Lapper Bowl--it collapses flat and snaps shut to stay flat until the next use. My bowl only takes up as much room as a pocketbook, so it's easy to toss into a lumbar pack (or sutff into a pocket) for an afternoon hike.

Bottom line: high quality, thoughtful design, and some bright designs (it comes in 13 colorful designs). It's gear that works.
