Tsubo Altana Men's Shoe : Keep Your Downtown Dogs Happy
I've been a big fan of Tsubo shoes since I first learned of the company about five years ago. Love the style, love the fit. My ardor has only increased with their casual Vibram-soled urban hikers. Of course, Tsubo doesn't advertise their Vibram-soled shoes as hikers; they're all about fashion. I think of them that way because the grippy, sluiced soles give me the thickness and cushioning I want and the stability I need on slippery, wet sidewalks. I walk everywhere, but I refuse to trek around town in hiking shoes. I'm more stylish than that. Currently, the Altana is my every day shoe. The uppers combine suede nubuck, mesh, and leather in a hip, retro athletic shoe design. The soles are sturdy enough that I can walk for miles without my feet complaining. I like that the cushy insoles are removable so I can insert my full-length custom orthotic. The Altana shoes fit great. I have pretty wide feet (D, sometimes EE), so I like the straight cut of the shoe. The toe box is sort of squared off -- but with rounded "corners." Best thing is they make my big feet look thinner and smaller. Available in black or brown/black, sizes 7 up to 13. (see shopping link below for a great sale on these shoes at Sierra Trading Post.)
