STM Bags Nomad Bag

I ask a lot of a laptop bag. I want stylish design, adequate padding, and enough room to carry all my portable office gear. The Nomad bag by STM Bags is just right for my all-day work and travel carry-along or carry-on items.

Made out of a tough but sophisticated water-resistant nylon, the Nomad bag has all the organization I need in a variety of useful pockets and sleeves.  The main compartment has a sleeve for my laptop and includes a zippered, padded laptop sleeve. The padded, lined sleeve has highly accessible rope grab handles on two sides so I can quickly grab it when I need it.

The rest of the main compartment is about two inches deep, so I have plenty of room for files.  There’s also a deep, lightly padded tablet pocket on the inside of the front compartment, which I use for my Xoom Tablet (Apple fans, it’s wide enough to hold an iPad).  The Nomad bag is padded on all sides and the bottom. I like that the bag has a rectangular bottom so I can place it on a table and it stands up, making it easier to get what I need (floppy messenger bags are no fun for laptops).

Two deep, wide pockets cover the front of the Nomad bag, each with a divider so I can keep my power cords separate in one pocket and stash pens, a water bottle, and my cell phone in the other pocket.  On top of these pockets there are two more zippered pockets that I use for my wallet and other items I need to keep secure.  Finally, when I close the bag, the front flap completely covers the front of the bag and is held in place with two metal hooks for a nice clean look.  Of course the lap has a discreet zippered pocket that runs the length of the bag. I’ve used it for my power cord, a sandwich and a bag of carrots, and a couple of magazines to read when I’m on the train.

I love the style of the Nomad bag because it still has a polished, urban look despite how much it holds.  It comes in several colors, so I think both men and women will find this versatile bag appealing. The Nomad bag has a nice wide, adjustable shoulder strap that comes with a removable pad that I can place on my shoulder when I’m carrying it.  There’s also a thin, fabric handle on top of the bag when I need to grab the bag and go; it lies nice and flat when not in use.  Various zipper pulls make it easy to get into secured pockets, and the back door zipper on the top of the bag allows me to remove my laptop without fully opening the bag or taking it off of my shoulder, which is handy when I’m going through airport security.

It’s been so handy to use the Nomad bag. Since I use my computer for watching movies, as well as for working, this bag has also become a great overnight bag when I stay at a friend’s house and just need a few personal items and my laptop with me!

Available in x-small (11” laptop), small (13” laptop), and medium (15” laptop) in dark grey, light blue, and mustard yellow.

Bottom Line: The Nomad bag is ideal for every-day use and for travel. It’s great to have the room I need to safely transport all my electronic devices!.-E.D. (July 2012)
