ProTech Moisturizing Sunscreen & Lip Balm : Natural Protection

I’ve spent a lot of time outdoors this summer, and I've been happily surprised at how effective and easy on the skin ProTech’s moisturizing SPF 30 sunscreen has been for me. I’ve slathered on this smooth, non-greasy sunscreen for kayaking trips in Puget Sound, as well as for hiking at high altitudes on Mount Rainier. No sunburn, no irritation, no dry skin.

Because of my sensitive skin (I’ve got rosacea), I have to be very careful about what I put on my skin. I'm always looking for products that are “non-comedogenic” (a term I learned from my dermatologist, which means lotions that don’t clog the pores on my face). ProTech’s sunscreen fits the bill and doesn’t include any skin irritants like chemical fragrances or coloring.

ProTech’s Hybrid SPF 17 moisturizing lip balm (pictured above) is a good complement to the moisturizing sunscreen. It’s made of simple, natural products like peppermint oil and beeswax that protect and moisturize my lips. I like the extra-slender tube – it’s a little longer but half the diameter of the usual lip balm tubes. It seems like such a practical, efficient design that I’m surprised I’ve never seen a lip balm like this before. My lips, which tend to be dry, stay protected and moist with this lip balm.

Bottom LIne: I’m impressed with how effective ProTech’s skin and lip protection is for keeping my face and lips happy. This truly seems like a high-quality product with an emphasis on natural, non-irritating ingredients. J. I. (Sept. '05)
