Prana Titan Short

My Prana Titan short earned its stripes on a hot summer day when my friends and I went tubing in the St. Vrain river outside of Boulder, Colorado.

For my day-long adventure I I wanted a do-everything short, one that I could wear tubing all day, that would dry fairly fast, and that I could wear afterward at the famous Oskar Blues brew pub in Lyons, CO.. Prana's Titan short performed well in every category.

This short simply kicks butt. It fits great, looks great, and has a long line of impressive features.

I really appreciated the integrated belt, which allows me to adjust the waistband for a perfect fit. The belt is super convenient, especially when I’m wearing the shorts beneath a pack with a hip belt that's riding low. Best of all, when tubing I can cinch them tight so they don’t fall off when they’re wet and heavy.

I also loved all the pockets on the Titan short; they help me stay organized and keep my essentials handy. There are two back pockets, two front pockets, and two cargo pockets on the side. (There's also a handy Velcro-sealed watch pocket.) This short is great for travel because I can keep all my documents on my body.

The Titan short is also ideal for trail use and water-oriented outings because it has drain holes and mesh fabric in the pockets. After a long day of tubing, I can get out of the water and not have to worry about my pockets being full of water.

The Titan short is made of a lightweight cotton and polyester blend. It's super soft and comfy, and dries fast. In activities not directly related to tubing and drinking beer on hot days, the Titan short still performs admirably. The super soft waistband lining makes this short a comfy choice under a climbing harness, and the gusseted crotch lets me jump, rock hop, and boulder with aplomb.

Available in Mud and Khaki, men's sizes S-XL.

Bottom Line: I plan on enjoying many hot summer days in the Titan shorts, both in and out of the river.--N.W. (July ‘11)
